FOR IMMEDIATE PRESS RELEASE
24 November 2009
Bradford Artist Creates 2.5 Metre ‘Predator’ Sculpture

Andy Shaw, a talented young Bradford-born artist has just completed his largest project to date. The 2.5 metre ‘Predator’ was commissioned by MacMillians pub in Wheatley and was installed recently outside the pub.

Andy commented “an important aspect of my work is that it is environmentally sustainable and that is reuses materials for a purpose other than that which they were designed for.”

‘Predator’ took around two months to build and it is made up of over 5000 bits and bolts. All the materials used were reclaimed.

Andy has been working on his ‘Bits and Bolts’ artwork for over 12 years and have made a range of pieces, from motorbike models through to sci-fi and homewares including candle holders and lamps. Andy will be exhibiting his work this weekend at the Galvanize Festival Metal Market at Millennium Galleries in Sheffield.
